The project is situated on the eastern side of the Huangpu River in Shanghai, with the YangjingGang Wharf and Granary Cultural Creation Group located nearby on the western side. It serves as a significant commercial hub on the northern bank of Lujiazui Financial Town. The Pudong Riverside Greenway runs along its base, while the Yangpu Bridge forms a picturesque backdrop for the building.

Construction Process (2019-2023) ? Lv Xiaobin

The construction process for the project spanned from 2019 to 2023, and it was meticulously planned and executed by a team of dedicated professionals.

To enhance the urban landscape interface in a densely populated city, a new design approach involves the construction of two separate office towers instead of a single one. This allows for a larger visual surface area and a more expansive view for users. The shape of the buildings is carefully planned to comply with a height restriction of 50 meters. Additionally, a structural mezzanine is incorporated into the design, supported by an extending arm truss and suspended from both above and below. This innovative feature ensures that all vertical forces are efficiently transmitted through the core tube to the underground foundation. By maximizing the view of the nearby river, the design seamlessly connects the ground floor with the city and surrounding green spaces. The open posture of the buildings allows for a harmonious integration into the surrounding area.

The innovative design of the building allows the first floor to have a spacious and open layout without any columns. The use of an 8.5-meter-high ultra-white glass curtain wall further enhances the sense of openness and transparency on the first floor, creating a visually striking image of two floating office buildings. Apart from the lobby, each standard floor features a large circular space surrounding the central core, supported by only eight columns. With only two columns on each side, this design achieves a 270-degree unobstructed view without any columns at the corners. This design exemplifies the principle of form following function, where the structural elements are designed to prioritize visual aesthetics and spatial openness.
